I am not close to being in this generation but it seems to me it is a lot about young men shying away from commitment and responsibility (ie marriage) which to them may well have more liabilities than advantages of franchising. Lets face it men have it a lot tougher with the more assertive and competitive women of today. But don't take me wrong, I have been happily married with a woman libber for 40 years and the sparks have frequently More
Agreed. We had an appraiser from a completely different city come to our town for an performance appraisal methods, and she listed a home near ours that had sold but it was a tear down as a comp, and she didn't get that the closer to the lake the higher the price so she listed houses far from the water as comps. We found there was no recourse. We reported it to the appraisal board but they only deal with it if the appraiser did criminal More
About 20 years ago I got married affairs when I was 38. Thought I'd finally commit and start a family with a woman about ten years younger. Surprise.... Less than a year later we were divorced. In the meantime, she got into my bank account and spent a load of money on herself and friends. Getting married is a risk. And perhaps the older you get and the more you have to lose the bigger risk it becomes. I didn't know until after I was More
Carl, if it were just this blog, I would grant you purchase on the issue. But it's not just this blog. The mean-spiritedness that dominates this blog is the same mean-spiritedness that characterized so many of the how to get people to read your blogwn hall meetings this past summer, and much of the so-called Tea Bagger phenomenon. And I am not ignoring the thoughtful, intelligent posts. My point would be that those thoughtful, More
O.k. I have to say that this is a waste of space for any paper ---- even the Wall Street Journal. Now, if you were trying to reintroduce manners in job rejection letter writing, it may apply and be very useful. However, I think this is just another example of how lazy everyone seems to be getting. I have to admit that I loooooove all the gadgets out there .... I'm also addicted to my computer ---- games and all. However ---- and I More
Same ol' $hit, different day. Does anyone think that a report coming OUT of the Obama Administration would actually refute anything he has enacted? How about a third party report giving some objectivity to it. Just the headline is ludicrous: simple logic would dictate that ceasing operations for 6 months across the board would have SOME effect on jobs. The only way it wouldn't is if there was no work to begin with, and we know there More
as an honorably discharged draftee, I would suggest you calm yourself a bit. having vented your spleen, you put in a few shots at the AG who is way off how to calm nerves the side on this matter. The guy was regular military, committed his crime on a base, and his victims were mainly military. There was never any question that he would face a military trial, and there was never a doubt that they'd seek to impose the death penalty. Neither More
I fully agree with this. How many posters here actually took the time to read the article? Most of the negativism was from subordinates of the General. In my opinion, any negativity in the workplace toward the current administration was far eclipsed by the negativity toward General McChrystal by our troops in the field. I've never served in the military, nor have 99%+ of the posters here, but I appreciate the sacrifices of those who More
I do believe in tracking by ability rather than the 'no-child-left-behind' school of thought, which is I think what you are getting at. But actually, when I recently took the GMAT I noticed a relationship compatibility test taker had to get many more questions correct in Math than in the Verbal section for the same score. That means - at least for our graduate candidates - test takers do better on average in Math than Verbal. Of course More
I'd always ascribed his less favorable character traits to all the Irish blood from his mother's lineage. No dogs, no Irish, you know. In case you missed the sarcasm, I don't really believe that. This President has his personal weaknesses strengths and weaknesses, as we all do. It is his policies with which I most take issue. I won't call him names or ascribe far-out motivations for his administration's initiatives. I oppose him, not More
